Sailing Through Art: My Recent Auctions and A Wave of Inspiration

A Journey Through Art & Ocean: My Recent Art Auctions and New Inspirations
Through the past few weeks, I have gone through an incredible whirlwind of creativity, travelling, and achieving some artistic milestones. Right from painting live for collectors to staging my work aboard a luxury cruise, these moments have left an incredible impact on my journey as an artist. The recent art auctions with Parkwest Gallery that I hosted weren’t simply held to present my work to the collectors, but rather to connect with people by means of my art, our stories, and all through this, finding a new inspiration.
Live Painting & Online Auction – “Cherry Blossoms”
On January 25th, I got the opportunity of showcasing my work at an online auction event with Parkwest Gallery. Here I live painted my latest acrylic piece, “Cherry Blossoms”. I find something quite invigorating in painting in real time, as every brushstroke goes on to narrate the story, and the final artwork is created from the amalgam of energies around. This artwork was crafted taking inspiration from cherry blossoms, which have fleeting beauty. The painting symbolizes renewal and the impermanence that life is. Witnessing how many collectors found it to resonate with themselves was greatly rewarding and joyous; it reminded me once again of the ability art has in evoking people’s emotions and connecting with them across distances.
A Caribbean Art Auction Aboard Celebrity Beyond
Only a few days after this auction, I was again invited to take an extraordinary journey with an exclusive VIP art auction on a Celebrity Beyond cruise. The auctioneer was Cole Waters, along with Parkwest Gallery. It turned out to be a very unique experience, I got the opportunity of showcasing 24 artworks, across varied mediums, to an audience comprising of passionate collectors. Apart from this, the cruise itself felt like a fresh breath of air. I explored stunning destinations in the Caribbean, including the vibrant shores of St. Maarten, Dominica, and Barbados, each of which had its own unique charm, colors, and cultural richness.
St. Maarten was a mesmerizing place, with its striking contrast of turquoise waters and lush green landscapes.
Dominica offered the aura of a tropical paradise, with cascading waterfalls and untouched natural beauty.
Barbados had the most stunning beaches, with crystal-clear waters and soft white sand. The beaches had a peaceful energy that inspired me for my upcoming collection.
During the cruise, traveling in the vast expanse of its waters, the ocean too became a source of inspiration for me, the way the lights danced on the surface of water, giving it distinct appearance, the hues shifting from deep blue to translucent aqua, and the warmth of the sun setting over endless horizons. Although at the beginning of the journey, I had set out for the auction, by the end of it, it became more than that; it was like taking a refreshing dip into the serene waters of nature’s beauty. Returning home, I had some great ideas to work on!
New Collection Inspired by the Tropics
So, after an impactful vacation to these breathtaking locations, I was naturally compelled to translate them on my canvas, giving the viewers a peek into what influence the journey had on me. The next collection that is currently underway will be my special tribute to the Caribbean’s tropical beauty. The rhythmic waves, the lush greenery, the vibrant colors of island life, and the serene beaches that left me in awe, every element and every scenery have inspired me to craft an ode to Mother Nature.
Expect to see tropical waterscapes, dreamy sunsets, and the vivid essence of island life in my new series. I am particularly excited to get a chance to experiment with different textures and mediums as I work my way to bring these elements to life that capture the essence of these stunning locations wondrously.
Reflecting on These Auctions & Looking Ahead
Getting a chance to participate in these auctions felt very rewarding. Every time that my works find a home, it makes me realise that why do I actually create the art that I do, for inspiring and connecting with people through my work. I am gratified that all those collectors who showed appreciated my work and took it back home with them, for allowing me the chance to share my vision with the world. These experiences always fuel my passion to craft newer compositions, pushing me to explore newer themes and add a fresh new perspective to my ideas. As I continue to work on my Caribbean-inspired collection, I am looking forward to getting any opportunity to share little sneak peeks and progress updates with you. Stay tuned, much is yet to come!
