This painting has such an interesting story behind it. I came across a very talented nature photographer - Dane Smith through my Instagram. He posted his winter photograph, there were two different versions of same - a lighter and another one with a darker tone. You can see the image I used for my reference on Dane's page. While I was looking at both closely to see which one looks better, I felt an immediate connection and felt like painting it.
I right away wrote to Dane and asked him the permission to use his photograph for my painting inspiration and to my surprise he responded back within a few minutes with a huge "YES"
Rest I am sure you can guess. It took me almost two days to complete this beautiful winter scape on a 16X20 inch watercolor paper with watercolors. But I am glad how it turned out and even loved by Dane himself :) What more can I expect.
