This is watercolor painting on watercolor paper.
I always get attracted towards colorful things in nature and what is more colorful than flowers. I have painted waterlilies in past too, and they keep pulling me back every now and then. And my brushes and paints inspire me to paint one after another. This is from an inspiration photograph that I clicked during my visit to "Ground of Sculptures" in New jersey. There is a beautiful pond with a sculpture of a lady face and surrounded by waterlilies and mist. I captured a small corner of that entire landscape into this painting.
The greens of the lilypads was so thick that it was almost impossible to see any water underneath. While I was painting I was thinking that this looks too busy, but as I added those beautiful waterlilies, it all came together and I am love with the outcome. Hope you like it too.
